Being Mortal: A Deeper Exploration of End of Life

The Rev. Elizabeth Gardner, on staff with the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, will lead a 4 session workshop about end of life issues. She will examine the practical considerations that can surround end of life: diagnosis, caregivers, legal issues, hospice and funeral planning as well as how our faith leads us to the joyful expectation of eternal life.  This series will run from 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church dining room Saturdays, September 24, October 1, October 15, and October 22.  Participants are encouraged to pre-register for the class as well as to read Being Mortal by Atul Gawande before the program.  Participation will be limited to 30.  A $7.00 contribution from each participant to cover cost of materials is encouraged.  To register, please email Evangeline Gravina at evangeline.gravina@stjohns-dc.org.
