From our organization as a parish in 1815 to today, St. John's Church has provided a powerful symbol of faith in the heart of our nation's capital.

Located at the corner of 16th and H Streets in Northwest Washington, St. John's is near the McPherson Square and Farragut North Metro stations. Limited street parking is available; free valet parking is offered for certain hours.

FWC: David Heinze

First Wednesday Concerts is pleased to welcome organist David Heinze to Lafayette Square in a program of Bach, Widor, Schumann, and Litaize. Mr. Heinze is Associate Organist of Grace Episcopal Church in Providence, Rhode Island. He recently completed graduate studies at the University of Cambridge where he was Graduate Organ Scholar at Selwyn College as well as organist for St. John’s Voices at St. John’s College. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, he is an alumnus of Interlochen Arts Academy and Hope College. Following his studies in Cambridge, David was appointed Gerre Hancock Fellow in Church Music by the Association of Anglican Musicians. He has performed throughout the US, UK, and Europe and is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.
