History

From our organization as a parish in 1815 to today, St. John's Church has provided a powerful symbol of faith in the heart of our nation's capital.

Directions & Parking

Located at the corner of 16th and H Streets in Northwest Washington, St. John's is near the McPherson Square and Farragut North Metro stations. Limited street parking is available; free valet parking is offered for certain hours.

On October 17, 2017, the Rev. Dr. Luis León, rector of St. John's Church, announced his retirement in May 2018.

Holy Land Pilgrimage Informational Meetings

St. John’s Church has the opportunity to take a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from January 13-25, 2019. Over the course of the 10-day trip, pilgrims will thoroughly explore the Holy Land. Highlights include visits to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Jericho, Nazareth, the Jordan River, and many other places and experiences.
The cost for the land portion of the trip is $2,600 and includes accommodations in a double room, all meals, transportation in Israel via deluxe bus, entrance fees, and tips for guest house/restaurant staff, and bus drivers. Each pilgrim is responsible for airfare to Tel Aviv.
For more information, you’re invited to join one of the two upcoming informational meetings on either July 12 or August 1. At these meetings, we will look at the itinerary as well as answer any questions that you might have about the trip.
