From our organization as a parish in 1815 to today, St. John's Church has provided a powerful symbol of faith in the heart of our nation's capital.

Located at the corner of 16th and H Streets in Northwest Washington, St. John's is near the McPherson Square and Farragut North Metro stations. Limited street parking is available; free valet parking is offered for certain hours.

Join us Sunday, December 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., for a discussion led by Lonnie G. Bunch III, Secretary of the Smithsonian and former Director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. As Secretary, he oversees 19 museums, 21 libraries, the National Zoo, numerous research centers, and several education units and centers.
Following the discussion, there will be opportunity for Q&A. There will be no livestream Zoom option. An audio recording will be available in the weekly newsletter The Word and the Speaker Series recording page of our website here the week after each talk.
