Speaker Series: For the Health of Our Families and the Planet
November 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
A panel of speakers from St. John’s and other members of a coalition of local faith and environmental groups will provide a timely and lively information session on the harmful impact that fossil-fuel-burning cooking ranges and heating and hot water systems have on human health and climate change. As part of Washington Interfaith’s “Climate in the Pulpit” month, the session will also discuss (and demonstrate!) promising solutions, recent local successes in moving the region toward electricity generated from renewable sources, and why it’s important that we don’t delay. The panel will also share ways to make your own home more healthy and how to aid the effort to secure funding for clean energy retrofits for those who need it most by participating in a citizen science study or writing your local elected leaders in DC or in Maryland. For more information, contact Sarah Wood:
The event will be in the Togo West Parlor on the first floor of the Parish House.
During the program year, which begins on September 11 and runs through early June, valet parking is available on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Look for the valet sign at the corner of Black Lives Matter Plaza (16th Street) and H Street, NW. For more information:
