Current Masking and Communion Practices

While masks at St. John’s are now optional, we strongly encourage worshipers who are not fully vaccinated to continue to wear them. Those wearing masks may sit in any section of the church, but those who choose not to wear masks may sit only in the middle section, between the two aisles on the main level, or in the balcony. This is so that any who prefer to sit among only people wearing masks will have that option.

We are happily able to offer the wine in chalices again, but will continue the use of individual cups for those who prefer that option. The Bishop has asked that intinction (dipping the wafer into the common chalice) not be permitted.

If risk levels change, we will alter these practices as appropriate. Please remember that some among us are at greater risk than others.
