Into the Deep End

Psalm 55 or 138,139:1-17-23
Genesis 41:1-13
1 Corinthians 4:1-7
Mark 2:23-3:6
I have a two-and-a-half-foot-long Speedo styrofoam belt that I use for water jogging in our pool.
I put the Styrofoam belt around my waist and click the latch to lock it. I step out of my flip flops and wade down the steps into the shallow end of the pool.
The shallow end is three feet deep. As I walk, the pool gradually becomes deeper, from three feet to four feet to five feet. As it gets deeper, I am no longer supported by my legs and feet, but rather the styrofoam belt begins to support me.
In one instant, I lift my feet and allow myself to be totally supported by the belt. It’s in that instant that I experience a sense of spirituality.
I have let go, surrendering to a power greater than myself. I say to myself quite often, “God has my back.” He is there supporting me, providing me with blessings that I don’t even know that I want or need. If I am patient and wait, I will get answers to my questions.
