Welcome to St. John's Church, Lafayette Square—a vibrant historic Episcopal church located across from the White House. We invite you to join with us for worship, Christian fellowship and outreach.

From our organization as a parish in 1815 to today, St. John's Church has provided a powerful symbol of faith in the heart of our nation's capital.

At St. John's, we believe Christ is calling us to be a renewed church in a changing world. In worship, education, parish life, and social action, we seek to expand our horizons by serving God by loving one another.

Register for Faith & Race Explorations

Saturday, November 20

On Saturday, November 20, we will hold our first Saturday morning Faith & Race Exploration from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The theme will be an exploration of “Truth and Reconciliation” as tool for community healing, and Hazel Monae, who is the bishop’s amazing new Missioner for Equity & Justice, will join us to help guide us through the morning. This will be in-person with a mix of plenary and breakout sessions, and we will provide coffee and lunch. This is open to everyone, regardless of age, and whether or not you attended Sacred Ground.
