St. John’s Speaker Series is a popular adult education offering held between services at 10:00 AM on select Sundays from September to May. Nationally noted individuals, from scholars and poets to world leaders and faith leaders, present on pressing issues of the day and impactful historical events to expand our knowledge as individuals and as a community.

Sarah Coakley is an Anglican/Episcopal priest-theologian who has held academic positions in systematic theology and philosophy of religion at Oxford, Harvard, and Cambridge Universities, and now lives much of the year in Alexandria, Va., continuing her writing and ministry in retirement. Amongst her published books are The Broken Body: Israel, Christ and Fragmentation, The New Asceticism, and God, Sexuality and the Self: An Essay ‘On the Trinity’.
