Chorister Program
The St. John’s Chorister Program offers children and youth exceptional choral training, music theory education, and leadership development. Choristers become part of a vibrant community of singers dedicated to offering sacred music of the highest quality. This program is open to children in grades 3–12, regardless of religious affiliation.
Advanced Choristers
The Advanced Choristers are young singers with unchanged voices who have passed the dark blue RSCM examination or demonstrated equivalent skill and experience as choral singers. They receive ongoing training in music theory and regular private voice lessons. The group rehearses twice weekly on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and sings regularly for worship services and special events throughout the year. Membership is by audition.
St. Cecilia Choir
The St. Cecilia Choir is a preparatory program for children in grades 3–6. Using the curriculum of the Royal School of Church Music in America, participants learn the fundamentals of vocal production and music theory, and rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings. This is a preparatory, education-focused program, but does include opportunities to sing for worship on specific occasions throughout the year. Membership is open to all.
