St. John’s Speaker Series is a popular adult education offering held between services at 10:00 AM on select Sundays from September to May. Nationally noted individuals, from scholars and poets to world leaders and faith leaders, present on pressing issues of the day and impactful historical events to expand our knowledge as individuals and as a community.

Maureen Corrigan, Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Literary Criticisim at Georgetown University, offers “The Novels of F. Scott Fitzgerald.”
An expert in the work of F. Scott Fitzgerald, the literature of New York City, American detective fiction, American Women's Autobiography, the work of American Public Intellectuals in the 20th Century, and 19th century British poetry and prose, Corrigan has has been the weekly book critic on the Peabody Award-winning NPR program “Fresh Air” for over 34 years. She is also a Mystery Columnist for The Washington Post and publishes regularly on NPR online and The Wall Street Journal. Other reviews and essays have been published in Salon, The Atlantic online, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Nation, Newsday, The New York Observer, The Village Voice, The Pennsylvania Gazette and The Philadelphia Inquirer.
