Choral Evensong for Holy Week

Join us for a contemplative service of Choral Evensong on Wednesday in Holy Week. The service will feature the deeply moving Lamentations of Jeremiah by Thomas Tallis alongside the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis from Thomas Tomkins’ Fifth Service, accompanied by viol consort. These exquisite Renaissance works invite us into the mystery and sorrow of Holy Week, reflecting on the lament of Jerusalem. All are welcome to this time of prayer, scripture, and song as we prepare our hearts for the journey to the cross.
Each Evensong at St. John’s is followed by a light reception held in the parlor of the Parish House. Complimentary parking is available in the parking garage at 818 Connecticut Avenue NW. Please see an usher for a validation sticker.
