Join us for a special service on September 29 at 11 a.m. when the combined choirs of St. John’s offer sacred music by two living British composers.
Cecilia McDowall’s Jubilate Deo was premiered at the Platinum Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. It brings the joyful text of Psalm 100 to life with dancing vocal melodies and organ flourishes. Grayston Ives’s Missa Brevis similarly sets the traditional Latin text of the Eucharist in a rhythmic manner, capturing both the solemnity and spirit of the Eucharist.
