While choral singing in person is currently not possible during the COVID-19 pandemic, our choirs have continued to add beauty to our worship services by participating in virtual choir projects. Choir members record their parts at home on their own. The videos are edited together, creating the effect of singing together. The St. John’s Choir, comprised of twelve professional singers, provides music for the 11:00 a.m. worship service during the academic year. Their repertoire is diverse spanning from Renaissance motets to premiering new compositions and commissions. The St. John’s Choir regularly sings for notable services held at the church and is featured on several recordings. To hear the St. John’s choir, click here.
The Parish Choir provides an opportunity for members of the parish and community to contribute their talents to the 9:00 a.m. Sunday service. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, preceded by dinner and social time. New members are always welcome. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to send an inquiry to the Director of Music and Organist.
The Summer Choir combines the forces of the Parish Choir and St. John’s Choir as well as additional members who are unable to make a regular commitment during the program year. The Summer Choir rehearses each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. before the 10:30 a.m. service.
